Lionsgate Theme Park to Land on Jeju Island
Lionsgate and Landing Jeju Development today announced - they will together develop Lionsgate Movie World at Jeju Shinhwa World on the South Korea's Jeju island.
Lionsgate Movie World, spanning approximately 1.3 million square feet and centered around multiple renowned Lionsgate film properties, will be Lionsgate's first branded outdoor theme park and the latest milestone in the continued ramp up of Lionsgate's location-based entertainment business around the world.
In addition to being Korea's first international theme park, Lionsgate Movie World at Jeju Shinhwa World will be the first outdoor theme park built exclusively around world-famous movies. It will be the also the largest destination attraction to date in Lionsgate's international network of branded theme parks in the world.
The project will be developed into seven movie zones, each themed around Lionsgate properties, the companies said in a joint- statement.

Lionsgate Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer said he is happy to "partner with our friends at Landing International".
Lionsgate Movie World will be the centerpiece of Jeju Shinhwa World, an integrated resorts spanning an area of approximately 2.5 million square meters (over 20 million square feet) that was opened earlier in the year on the Jeju Island.
